Eons ago, Thor, Balder and Loki fought side by side as the Warriors Three in defense of Asgard. Although Loki had misgivings about the future, Thor and Balder were confident, due in part to the knowledge that Odin was having a powerful weapon forged. In 1939, Baron Zemo determined that the Asgardian myths were real, and obtained the means to raid Asgard. However, he would not dare do so without sufficient allies at his side.
