Batman is lying in Crime Alley, badly hurt after someone cut his Batrope. Huntress arrives to get him out in one piece, but it's not going to be easy. His wounds are well past the medical skills of Alfred, but they stage a car accident and get him set up with excellent physician and childhood friend Thomas Elliot to get him pulled through.
