Early in the Dark Knight's career, when he and Robin encountered a crime that was inexplicable, usually involving ghosts, magic or aliens, they would record it in the Black Casebook. Two men that Batman has encountered recently have recalled one such adventure, in which Bruce was confronted with three versions of himself... a Batman who killed with a gun, a drug-fueled, bestial Batman... and a Batman who sold his soul to the devil and destroyed Gotham. The first Batman shot the Joker with a gun. Bruce barely evaded death at the hands of the second, who nearly broke his back as Bane once did. Both men are likely corrupt cops. But who is the third one... and is he destined to destroy Gotham?
