In the events surrounding the resurrection of Ra's al Ghul, Talia provided Bruce with a suit of armor bearing the device of a bat. In a response to Bruce's questions about the armor's origins, Talia tells him of it's reputed mystical nature, but also with a warning that the armor is said to have a dangerous nature to it. Concerned that the armor, called the Suit of Sorrows may actually be influencing him, making him faster and stronger, but more violent and uncontrollable, Bruce travels to France in search of the suit's origin.
