The Flash - Jay Garrick takes a smoke break during a science experiment. His carelessness results in the release of hard water gases that turn him into the fastest man alive. He goes out to fight crime as the Flash, a secret identity known only to himself, Joan Williams, a few doctors, some scientists in Washington, anyone who reads the papers they publish on the subject, or anyone who happens to look at his unmasked face.
