Framed - The Spirit awakens with a sore head and a murder weapon in his hand. He is forced to go on the lam, trying to prove his own innocence in a murder case before he gets arrested.
Circus Daze - The Spirit is called upon to investigate the murder of a circus clown, with a limited list of suspects.
On Guard, Crime - Commissioner Dolan is challenged to a duel, and he chooses to fight to prove his honour. The Spirit discovers that it is all a setup to use an archaic laws to get Dolan out of office, and must race against time to prevent the Commissioner from losing his job.
Reserved, One Electric Chair - Ellen awakens from a nightmare, convinced that she is a murderess. When the evidence starts to support that idea, she is put on death row, leaving very little time for the Spirit to prove her innocence.
Death After Death - A bomber is sentenced to death, but his particular brand of explosive is used for several killings afterwards. The Spirit must learn who is bombing by proxy.
Brummagen vs. Pettigrew - The last Pettigrew is in town, and is being hunted by the last Brummagen over a very old land claim.
