In Eastern Europe, the Spectre and the Gray Man are drawn to a devastated town without knowing why. At the Justice League Embassy, the new Dr Fate makes herself available should they need her, at the same time that Huntress, having unknowingly been compelled by Max Lord, arrives on her first day. The League receive a distress call from the Justice League Europe: the team have ventured to Eastern Europe to investigate the deserted village but the Paris Embassy has lost contact with them.
