Logan and Hawkeye are traveling the country to deliver Hawkeye's cargo. They are attacked along the way, and Hawkeye makes short work of the attackers on his own. The trip is spent getting Logan (and the reader) caught up on the world's current state of affairs, including the various regions of the country and who controls them, as well as the fate of several of the fallen heroes.
