When Spider-Man rescues Nancy Rushman, a 3rd grade teacher from upstate New York from a gang of punks, he can't help but note her strong resemblance to Natasha Romanoff... the Black Widow. The resemblance is reinforced when Nancy takes out one of the thugs on her own, revealing a startling degree of martial arts training. But Nancy steadfastly denies being the Widow. Before Spider-Man can delve too far into the mystery, a S.H.I.E.L.D. attack squad appears, apparently intent on killing Nancy. A sucker for a woman in distress, Spidey scrambles to get himself and Nancy somewhere safe.
