Captain Marvel is back from history, and trying to sort out his new life. He fled during the final conflict in the Civil War, trying to find his role in the world. He's also trying to fill in the gaps in his memory, which he feels he can accomplish by studying a particular painting in the Louvre. Ultimately, he decides to become an active hero again.
