Trapped 80 years in the future, Jamie finds himself at the mercy of what Cyclops, and his daughter Ruby will allow him to know. In order to see if he can find a way back to his own time, he leads Ruby and Layla in search of the world's foremost expert on time travel... Victor Von Doom. In the present, Cortex, an agent of the future government is striking out against former mutants. And since X-Factor has gotten involved, now he's working to eliminate them. At the moment, he's mentally dominated Shatterstar and is attacking Rictor and Strong Guy at the home of John Maddox, a dupe that Jamie allowed to keep his individuality.
