T'Challa is returning from a visit with Namor, to discuss Osborn's new position, when his aircraft goes down. He is in medically critical condition, and his bodyguards are missing following an encounter with Dr. Doom, leaving his wife, mother and advisors in the difficult position of selecting a new Black Panther. This issue also reprints the "Black Panther Saga" originally published online, recapping the history of the character.
