Plot

In 1750, the Mohawk Valley was a heaven of peace and plenty. Indians and Englishmen lived in amity and harvested the same rich land. But Tskleleli, the little bird of rumor, sang of trouble coming. Sage Canienga counselors sought to prepare for future troubles by sending a daughter of the Wolf Clan to boarding school to learn English ways and help her people understand the white man. When Molly Brant came home, her intelligence and beauty attracted the King's own man in the Valley -- William Johnson, rich, powerful, and famed for his amours. But then the American Revolution erupted, and William Johnson died, leaving Molly to take up her mantle as councillor and liaison to the white man's world.
