Plot

Fighting for justice has always come easy to marshal Long. Killing for it was an unpleasant necessity. And dying for it, well, that was something that Longarm always tried to avoid. But now a U.S. senator is out for blood. And all because Longarm killed a go-good back-shooting coward, who just happened to be the senator's own private bodyguard. Now they're going to haul Longarm up before a pack of pencil-pushing Washington pantywaists with nothing better to do than rip the badge off a lawman's chest. Sure Longarm's done his share of killing. He ain't denying that. But if dead men could talk, they'd probably say they had it coming to them ...
