A look at the West through the eyes and experiences of the men and women who responded to the phrase, Manifest Destiny, and sought their futures on the American Frontier. Authentic photographs and western memorabilia spreads illustrate the events of the experience, looks at the geographical features that dictated much of the history, and, along with an authoritative text, show how the earlier Americans -- native-born and otherwise -- made their way around the country through rough trails, river transport, Pony Express, and the fledgling railroads.
