George McCook was born in 1752 in Ballymony, Antrim, Ireland. He came to America in 1790 and fought in the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794. Seventeen of his descendants fought for the Union in the Civil War. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ohio.
