Psychoville
The series revolves around five different characters from different parts of Britain: David Sowerbutts, a serial killer obsessed man-child who still lives with his mother Maureen; Mr. Jelly, an embittered one-handed children's entertainer; Oscar Lomax, a blind millionare who collects Beanies; Joy Aston, a midwife who treats a practice doll as if it is her real child; and Robert Greenspan, a telekinetic panto dwarf in love with his Snow White. All five are connected by a mysterious blackmailer who has sent them a letter each, all of which contains the same message: "I know what you did…"
One by one, people in different English counties receive the same grim, succinct, chilling note 'I know what you did'. They seem to have nothing in common, usually doing badly. A blind Yorkshire castle owner is systematically robbed, probably by his new social services-assigned community service condemned assistant Michael Fry. Scary, unsuccessful clown Mr. Jelly blames his professional state on the presumed sender of the note, Mr. Jolly. A midget does well as an actor but not in love. A fat old mother's baby looses another job because of his macabre obsessions. A Lamaze class instructor is obsessed with her child wish, transferred to the master demonstration dummy.
Dwarf Robert's delight over being seduced by the theatre company's foxiest actress turns into an utterly exposed nightmare on stage. The blind castle owner bids against his cuddly toys collecting nemesis sisters on eBay. David Sowerbutts's boss came to his home for an amicable settlement, but his mother turns it into the ultimate nightmare. Mr. Jelly's bitter attempt to take revenge on Mr. Jolly attracts his comeuppance. A new series of alarming notes is meanwhile delivered.
The bidding against the Siamese twins for the cuddly toy resumes at the owners' home, but the original is 'temporarily missing'. After all his mean abuse towards child-friendly colleague Mr. Jolly, whom he blames for the loss of his hand and hence clown career, mean clown Mr. Jelly is shown he misread the threat notes.
Dave and Maureen kill their next victim on the list. This is in the victims flat so they dispose of the body in a large chest and start to tidy up. Then there is a knock at the door. They try to pretend no one is home but the caller sees them through the letter box.
The blind castle owner tries to convince the kid to give up the toy. Debbie falls into a coma. Joy's baby starts to come alive.
Robert takes advantage of Debbie's amnesia. Mr Jelly entertains an old people's home and Maureen learns the truth.
The characters have been drawn back to the scene of their crime. Who has summoned them and for what purpose?
