Dr. Martin Gruber receives a visit from the tax auditor at his office. Just then, he is called to an emergency with the mountain rescue team: Jasmin Seitz, a young girl, has fallen from a glacier. When Martin and his brother Hans arrive with the mountain rescue team, they discover that Jasmin's mother has also fallen while trying to save her daughter. Martin and his team cannot waste any time, as the weather is deteriorating. As Martin and his brother abseil down to rescue the two victims, the next disaster unfolds: Jasmin's mother, Vera, loses her footing and falls into a crevasse.

Lena's husband Tom was treated by Dr. Martin Gruber with a medication that hasn't been sufficiently tested yet, which keeps the Bergdoktor from settling down. Despite the medication showing some effect, Tom's condition doesn't improve-in fact, it gets worse. Martin does everything he can to save Tom's life, because Lena's love is also at stake and she blames him. With a thesis he develops, he tries to uncover the cause of Tom's steadily worsening condition. Can Martin help Tom, or will he lose Lena? Even though she's putting her life at risk, she doesn't want to name the person she slept with.

Except for Hans, who is struggling with the triangle situation involving Klara and Susanne, all the Gruber family members are happy. Lilli is deeply in love and is planning her first night with Mario together. It is sure to be perfect. And finally, Martin's romantic happiness also seems to be perfect, because Lena Imhoff has made a decision - for him. She is separating from her husband Tom, who is letting her go in peace, packing her things, and moving out. Lena, together with Martin, wants to find peace in a romantic small hotel. However, the alpine doctor's happiness cannot last long, as a new, life-threatening, and nerve-wracking case takes him into its grip.
