Kindergarten-Grade 2-- Large formats amplified by detailed, full-color illustrations are sure to attract youngsters to these fine books. All about Baby Animals presents basic facts about animal birth, development, and parental role for a wide variety of creatures ranging from moths to monkeys. All about Things People Do describes various occupations from chef to astronomer. Workplaces such as a hospital, a restaurant, and a factory are also included. The attractive watercolor illustrations include a variety of cultural and ethnic groups, and women are represented in all the careers. Both books are unusually well organized. How Animals Care for Their Babies (National Geographic, 1987) by Roger B. Hirschland contains much of the same basic information as Chinery's book, and has full-color photos. --Barbara B. Murphy, Shaler Area School District Libraries, Pittsburgh.
