Plot

THe attack continues against the traditional interpretation of Scripture passages that prescribe the place of women and men in the home and the church. Few adherents of the traditional position have met this attack with serious, sustained exegesis of the relevant passages. One exception is George W. Knight III, who has published major articles on the subject in the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, Christianity Today, and The Presbyterian Journal. This book combines these three essays and includes additional material as well. The author readily grants that men and women are fundamentally equal, but he insists that God has assigned different roles to each. These roles involve the headship of men and the submission of women, both in the marriage relationship and in church.
