Sixteen church historians open a window of comparative history on the story of evangelicals in Canada, the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, France, and the United Kingdom. Amazing Grace shows that churches sharing traditions of conversionism, revivalism, activism, and confidence in the authority of Scripture could still look, act, and express their faith quite individually. Most of the essays originated as papers read before the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals.
