Luke and the Last Things

A vigorous international discussion of Luke's eschatology has been underway for the last quarter of a century. This lively debate has more and more led to the recognition that the question of Luke's view of "the last things" is not just one question among many in respect to Lukian thought but is the central question. If we can achieve a correct understanding of Luke's eschatology we shall have developed a rewarding perspective for viewing every aspect of Luke Acts, whether it be burning of books, breaking of bread, prayer, "poverty piety," ministering women, or the world mission.
