Plot

As health-care costs soar and insurance companies limit reimbursement, people no longer can afford to be in counseling for months and years. In response, the counseling community has developed brief-therapy approaches that look at solutions rather than problems. This book equips Christian counselors to integrate Scripture with solution-based, brief therapy to help clients begin the change process. Gary J. Oliver, Ph.D., is the clinical director of Southwest Counseling Associates as well as an associate professor and program director of the D.Min. in Marriage and Family Counseling program at Denver Seminary. He has written twelve books, nine of them cowritten with Norm Wright, including How to Change Your Spouse without Ruining Your Marriage, Good Women Get Angry, and When Anger Hits Home. Monte Hasz, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist at Southwest Clinical Associates in Littleton, Colorado, and an adjunct faculty member of Denver Seminary. Dr. Hasz has also worked extensively in church ministry and hospital crisis evaluation. He lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, with his wife, Susan, and their three children. Matthew Richburg, M.A., is a licensed clinical psychologist at Southwest Clinical Associates in Littleton, Colorado, and an adjunct faculty member and clinical supervisor at Denver Seminary. He recently (1998) completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Denver. Matt and his wife, Sara, live in Denver, Colorado.
