Helping those in crisis can be a very important phase of one's ministry. Two of the tasks of the church's ministry are to equip all members to better handle their own crises and to equip them to help other people in crisis. I will share with you some of my counseling experiences over the years. They are no different from what you will encounter as you minister in your church. As you read them, take the time to visualize the situation and the people involved as if you are the one they have come to for help. Consider two important questions: How would you feel? What would you do? Too many people bypass the first question and focus only upon resolving the problem. But our feelings affect what we do.
