The lovable chickens on Mrs. Tweedy’s Yorkshire farm have always just been there to lay eggs and cluck peacefully—but when Mrs. Tweedy decides to start using them for meat, the feathers really start to fly. Enter a cocky American rooster named Rocky (Mel Gibson), who inspires the frenzied fowl to hatch a plan to escape the farm before they’re all made into pies. But morale falls low when it is revealed that Rocky may be all talk and no action. With plucky Ginger (Julia Sawalha) at the helm, the chickens must stage a grand revolt and break out of their prison before the axe falls.
