In this scientific thriller / horror film a research scientist, Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum), successfully transports himself into an empty pod no more than 3 feet away from the pod he occupied. The trouble is the pod he occupied had another passenger, a common house fly. The flies’ ‘matter’ was combine with Seth’s and transported to the next pod. Reporting on Seth’s research, Veronica (Geena Davis), is intrigued and fascinated by Seth’s ambition amongst other things. Initially, the project is extremely successful as Seth reaps the benefits of accidental gene splicing. However, negative side effects become hauntingly visible. Seth and Veronica struggle to find some solution to the issue before man becomes fly.
