“Let Me In” is a story about a young boy named Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who is being abused by local bullied. Owen’s Mother (Cara Buono) is completely oblivious to these events of her son’s abuse and even refuses to listen. One night Owen finds he has new neighbors moving in next to him. Owen is interested in the young girl, Abbey (Chloe Moretz) who he meets one night in his garden. Abbey tells Owen they cannot be friends. However over time they grow closer taping out morse codes against their apartment walls. Over time Abbey becomes Owen’s would-be guardian and watches over him even as he grows up into his adolescent years.
