Man of the Year

The time has come for a change in the White House... until now candidates for President vie with one another to show who is the most serious about the issues of the day! This movie shows the power of the media in expanding one's fifteen minutes of fame into a Presidential campaign. Tom Dobbs (Robin Williams) like Al Franken of Air America is a talk show host who has made his mark as a comedian and poking fun of the folks in power. He makes politicians the butt of his jokes and a groundswell of support for his latest joke, run for President, much like Pat Paulsen in the 70's. He surprises himself, the experts, the pundits and the nation by actually winning, only to find out that he won strictly by a computer glitch. Now he faces an actual serious decision: remain President or step aside and say that this was the biggest joke of them all.
