The futuristic world is in chaos and ruled by a group of bad guys who terrorize towns and demand payments from them. Kevin Costner finds an old postal worker vehicle with a long dead postal worker in it from the good old days and he puts it on to be warm. When he arrives at a gated town, hungry, tired, thirsty, the sheriff will not let him in. This is when Kevin Costner gets an idea to gain admittance he shows the letters in the pouch of the old postman and says he is a new postman, there to deliver mail and take mail to long lost family and friends. This gains him admittance and makes him a sort of hero in the town’s eyes. After awhile there is an entire legion of “postmen” in training, believing the pack of lies Kevin Costner tells them about the United States getting back in order again and talk of a phony president, the people get new hope and battle the bad guys to get from town to town with the mail. The bad guys don’t like the threat to their rule. Kevin Costner becomes a hunted man along with all of his trainees.
