The Prophecy

On the day he was to become a priest, Thomas Daggett (Elias Koteas) sees a horrific vision of the war between the angels in heaven. He flees the clergy and later becomes a cop. A series of mysterious corpses and disappearances lead him onto the trail of Simon (Eric Stoltz), an angel who was sent to Earth to find “The soul”. This soul is a warrior spirit so lethal that whichever side gets it will win. Thomas also learns that the war in heaven is because some angels are jealous that God loves humans more than them. Thomas gets on the trail of the mysterious soul and finds that whomever it enters becomes dark and violent. Now, it is in the body of a young Native American girl, Mary (Moriah Shining Dove Snyder). On her tail is Gabriel (Christopher Walken), the most powerful of the rebellious angels. Now Thomas doesn’t know who to trust, even Lucifer (Viggo Mortensen) is offering to help him, or how to save Mary’s life.
