The Doom Patrol takes Kid Devil to their headquarters, where the Chief may perform delicate surgery to repair the lungs that Plasmus damaged. There, Robin overhears the Chief speaking to Rita and other members of the Patrol, and determines that the Chief's care may be questionable. Has he made the Doom Patrol psychologically dependant on him? Or physiologically? Naturally, the Chief is angered by these accusations, while the rest of the Doom Patrol seems accepting of him. The Chief believes Kid Devil belongs with the Doom Patrol. Robin also discovers that Kid Devil has not been checking in with Blue Devil at all; he's been calling... no one. Then Negative Man returns with news of the Brotherhood; both teams rally to their cloning lab in France, and there discover that the Brain has succeeded in making himself a new body!
