In a fierce battle, Weapons Master unleashes a barrage on Superman and Wonder Woman. After a feigned surrender, Weapons Master attacks again, causing damage.

The fight continues underwater, with Weapons Master resorting to point-blank gunfire into Superman's eye. In a retaliatory move, Superman damages Weapons Master's eye similarly.

As Weapons Master runs out of air, Superman takes him to the surface but also passes out. Meanwhile, other heroes engage super-villains, resulting in a gas truck explosion.

Superman weakly returns to the scene, warning the villains of potential lethal consequences. He incapacitates one, prompting the villains to flee. Superman, still weakened, is taken home by Wonder Woman and Superboy, where Lana Lang offers to care for him.
