Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters, Vol. 2

Sent by the President to investigate an object on a collision course with Earth, the Freedom Fighters discover it to be a huge nest of alien insects which capture the Red Bee and place her in a cocoon. The team battle against the insects for three days during which time, the Red Bee begins to understand the language of the aliens. Emerging from the cocoon, she confronts the queen of the hive and convinces her to direct her nest elsewhere. The heroes return to the White House on Earth to find it demolished in the wake of the Amazonian Attack. Dr Mid-Nite examines the Red Bee who has exhibited physical changes since her time in the alien nest. The Fighters meet with the Director of the NSA who wants them to front a government sanctioned team to go against metahuman criminals, exactly the situation they fought against after Infinite Crisis. The team is split between those who agree with the move and those who don't. Several weeks later, the Red Bee falls ill and surrounds herself with a cocoon.
