All spiritual traditions recognize appearances by the holy dead sent as God's messengers. Of special interest to Christians and all open-minded inquirers are the appearances of verified, primarily Western, saints and mystics in the past one hundred and fifty years. For two decades, researcher Patricia Treece has collected these accounts. She distinguishes between claims of appearances that are untrue and those that hold up under meticulous scrutiny. Included are chapters of after-death appearances from all major traditions, showing that these are indeed universal experiences.
