Plot

To Uschi Stuart photography is learning to see with your soul. She is particularly interested in the relationship between humankind and the earth, and photography has become her way of framing this interaction. The sensitive and unique way in which Stuart captures water and soil, leaves and people, flowers and light awakens in the viewer an awareness of the importance of this bond. None of the photographs in this book have been manipulated, either digitally or in the darkroom. The unusualness in her photographs was captured in the seeing and shooting, and often by employing multiple exposure as a creative technique to emphasize a particular impression. The images are accompanied by carefully selected quotations, which enhance the meditative effect of the photographs. The Soul Thinks in Images is the first collection of Uschi Stuart's photographs.
