Plot

First as Prince of Wales, then Regent, and lastly King of the United Kingdom, George IV was ridiculed by his contemporaries for his immense size and absurd pretesions. His extravagant passions, many love affairs, and disastrous relationship with his wife made him a natural target for satirists and cartoonists. This book attempts to redress the balance, claiming that is is as a man of wit and cultivation and patron of the arts that George should be more justly remembered.
