Plot

On the 15 of April 2000, two South Africans, Callie and Monique Strydom, were taken hostage by the Aby Sayyaf Muslim rebels on Jolo Island during a diving holiday. The Strydoms, with 21 other hostages were held captive for four months (128 days) and lived through a nightmare. Callie and Monique can now, for the first time, recount the hostage drama personally. Misconception and rumour will be replaced by hard fact, and all the more dramatic for it, as the reader is taken through the horrific multi-faceted hostage experience.
