Plot

This handbook describes 29 walks for the urban explorer who wishes to discover the true heart of Cape Town as well as some of its surrounding suburbs and natural areas. In the city centre, the Bo-Kaap, Waterfront, Gardens, cultural museums and other historical places are explored, as well as easy walks on Table Mountain. Further afield, the walker will be steered along Kirstenbosch, Rhodes Memorial, the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, forest and river walks and highlights along the coast. The book contains information on the history, geology and natural features of the specific areas, and also includes information on how to get there, where to park, duration and distances of walks, and picnic and braai areas. Other practical information includes the terrain of each walk, suitability for small children/wheelchairs, weather, amenities and opening times. Detailed maps accompany each of the walks.
