Kevin (probably) Saves The World: Season 1

Kevin returns to Texas to crash with his sister and niece and had a strained homecoming. Soon after, he meets a celestial guide who informs him he is a righteous soul meant to protect the world.

When Kevin tries to "help" a local brewer, his intentions go awry. Amy struggles to understand Kevin's strange behavior while still mourning her husband. Meanwhile, Kevin rekindles an old flame with unexpected consequences.

Kevin takes on the job of wedding planner and questions whether the wedding should even take place; Amy gets Kevin's shrink from New York to visit; Reese spies on Kevin; and Yvette realizes that she is quite alone in her endeavor.

When the universe leads Kevin to help Lucille, a mean-spirited diner owner with some family drama, he quickly finds himself stuck in the middle of a tricky situation with her equally difficult sister. Meanwhile, Yvette begins to struggle with the side effects of being on Earth.

After draining his bank account in service of others, Kevin looks for a different way to help a single mom who's drowning in her son's medical bills. Meanwhile, Reese uses a school project to learn more about her uncle, and Yvette struggles with the full range of human emotions.

Kevin tries to help a man find work to support his family; Reese is caught in the middle of Amy and Kevin's escalating argument.

Yvette has her reservations when Dave, another celestial being, pops up looking to join her and Kevin on their latest mission: Reconciling Kristin and her mother under challenging circumstances. Elsewhere, Nate tries to work up the nerve to ask Amy out, completely unaware of her budding chemistry with a potential beau.

Kevin and Yvette believe that Kevin's latest vision is a sign that they are getting closer to something as it is a recurring one of blue butterflies, he last having seen them after helping Reese. Thus Reese may be the key to discovering what it all means. But in following the latest leads which Kevin thinks are going to lead to Reese, they lead instead to a man named Ethan, a continuing education art teacher, who is an artist himself but who is afraid to show his art in public despite being given the opportunity time after time as he finds more comfort in the unknown than he is in knowing if his work is any good in the eyes of the public. In helping Ethan, Kevin may forget about Reese, who, despite not saying so, may need her uncle now more than ever. The problem is is that the school play, for which Reese is the stage manager, is the same time as Ethan's art show in Austin. Through it all, the interrelationship between Kevin, Yvette and Dave may end up derailing the mission as Kevin begins to have a greater affinity to Dave, while Yvette thinks that Dave has some ulterior motive in wanting to be on Team Kevin. Meanwhile, Amy has accepted Iggy's invitation to go on a date, which would be her first since John's death. In addition to telling Kevin and Reese, Amy turns to Kristin for advice. But another person in the equation is Nate, who, for some reason, Amy feels she cannot tell about the date with who is another man.

Convinced that the universe is leading the way, a very confident Kevin heads to Laos with Tyler in search of the first righteous soul. Meanwhile, Yvette has her doubts about their mission and has a chance encounter with Tyler that changes both of their outlooks. Back in Texas, Amy goes all out decorating for Christmas and decides whether or not she's truly ready to date again.

Reveling in his success after finding the first righteous soul, Kevin attempts to help a man start dating again after a bad break-up. Meanwhile, inspired by Kevin's good deeds, Reese befriends the new girl at school, and Amy finally finds the courage to ask Nate out on a date.

As the newest substitute teacher at La Salle High School, Kevin tries to help an introverted student become more self-assured and popular. Meanwhile, Yvette contemplates life after the mission, and Amy and Nate struggle to plan the perfect first date.

In following the latest signs provided by the universe, Kevin meets Phoebe Powell. According to Reese, Phoebe is probably the person who has been doing anonymous good deeds around Taylor for the last ten years. As her identity is unknown, she has been given the name the Acorn Fairy by locals for the acorn stencil left at the scene of her deeds. Kevin learns, in speaking to Phoebe who admits that she is indeed the Acorn Fairy, that she seeks no fame or recognition in her deeds, but that she has one dream which she has been unable to achieve, namely to open an animal shelter. Without telling Phoebe, Kevin decides that the way he can help her is to make a way for that animal shelter to be a reality within the obstacle of neither of them having any money to do so. In the process, Kevin may see into his future as he discovers that he and Phoebe are more alike beyond both performing good deeds. At the same time, Kevin and Yvette have to figure out who has been writing to Tyler claiming to be the woman he met in Laos - Kevin and Yvette knowing that the Laos woman who Tyler is truly pining for being Yvette herself - and what the motive of this mystery woman from Victoria, BC is. Meanwhile, Simone, Nate's ex-wife, is returning to Taylor to attend a friend's wedding, which Nate and Amy are also planning on attending together. None of the three want Nate and Amy's current dating status to be uncomfortable for any of them. It is, however, something else about Simone's return which makes the situation uncomfortable, at least for one of them.

Looking to put an end to the "Lady of Laos" fiasco, Kevin travels to Canada in search of Tyler. However, his priorities quickly shift when Kevin realizes that deceiving Tyler actually means finding the next righteous soul. Meanwhile, Amy and Nate draw closer, and Yvette learns that she isn't the only celestial being susceptible to injury.

In doing a favor for Amy, Kevin finds the next person who he is supposed to help. He is a young man named Marc, who is driving across the country in an effort to find a place to set down roots. He seemingly has no money and is looking for odd jobs - as opposed to a permanent job - in an effort to support himself as he is on the move. He is living in his truck, the issue now being that his truck has been impounded for an expired registration, the money he doesn't have to renew that registration to get the truck out of impound. Beyond Kevin giving him those odd jobs, some which are more makeshift work than necessary work, and keeping him out of trouble, Kevin has to figure out a bigger way to help Marc than to give him a few bucks here and there. Someone else may have a better idea of what Marc truly needs. Kevin was hoping for a relatively easy problem person as he admits his focus is on trying to win back Tyler as a friend. With Yvette and Dave's help, Kevin tries those general grand gestures to rectify the issue. In the process, Kevin comes to the realization that he doesn't really know Tyler and as such has not been that good a friend even when they were friends. In Yvette and Dave providing their assistance, they don't want to divulge that Dave is having more human feelings, this time having some ailment that sounds remarkably like the flu, at least to a messenger from God.

Feeling guilty about the role he played in getting the former high-school security guard fired, Kevin looks to help Becky follow her true passion: inventing. With Amy and Tyler's assistance, they enter Becky's newest invention into a local Entrepreneur Expo with hilarious results. Meanwhile, Yvette is forced to come to terms with Dave's disappearance.

On the season finale, Kevin struggles with his relationship with Kristin and Yvette makes a drastic decision regarding her future with Kevin.
