Sword Art Online Vol. 03

In the near future, a virtual reality game called Sword Art Online has been released where players control their avatars with their bodies. One day players discover they cannot log out, as the game creator is holding them captive unless they defeat the final boss. However, if they die in the game, they die in real life. Their struggle for survival starts now.

It's been one month since the players' entrapment in the game. Nearly 2000 people have died and the first floor hasn't been cleared yet.

Kirito faces the consequences after witnessing the deaths of some of his friends in reality.

Dragon Tamer Silica cops an attitude and leaves her guild in a huff, learning that pride can precede destruction. Kirito befriends the spirited young girl and escorts her to the Hill of Memories to find the fabled Pnuema Flower.

Yulier is second-in-command of the Liberation Army and has approached Kirito and Asuna for help. She needs to save her friend and her guild.

Kirito and Asuna's vacation is cut short when Heathcliff requests their return.

It's game over. Kirito and Asuna spend their last moments together. Will they find one another again?

Kirigaya is adjusting to his life outside of the game, but he hasn't forgotten about Asuna. During a recent visit to the hospital he meets Sugou Nobuyuki.

A new MMO allows users to fly and encourages player killing. Kirito has joined this new game in search of Asuna and is pleasantly surprised with what he finds.

As Kirito learns about the game and the hatred between the races from Leafa, Asuna learns the truth of her role from the Fairy King.

Leafa is making enemies when she leaves her area to team up with Kirito. On their way to neutral territory rules and areas are discussed.

Leafa realizes something isn't right when recon sends an ominous message. What does it mean and will Leafa and Kirito have time to figure it out?

Kirito poses as an ambassador during a major meeting. If he can survive a fight against the Salamanders' General Eugene, his plan to prevent war might work.

While Asuna continues her attempt to escape, another woman in Kirito's life tries to make sense of her emotions.
