Notes

My quick rating - 5.5/10. This is a dark flick. It straddles the line between a twisted dark comedy and standard horror fare. The plot is pretty straightforward, racial. A rich white couple "hires" a few Mexican workers for cheap (later they are, of course, illegal) and expect them to work straight through building a guest house on their property. When I say work straight through, I mean literally. No leaving, no sleeping, just work and get the job done. But when this reality sets in and they decide to question their employers, that's when the whole story begins to unravel. The woman who hired them and seems to be the ring leader (Lynn Collins) does a great job as a crazed bitch with little regard for their lives, just the job. The rest of the cast is adequate, where no one really stands out. It does continue down this evil path to reveal the extent this couple will go. The message in this movie doesn't even attempt to be hidden, it is right in your face up to the very end, when they so much as say "May as well make illegals property and put them to work" This is heard on a mock radio news program and a caller says "People may call that slavery" and the host asks "What is wrong with that" Well, as I said, they weren't trying to hide anything, that is the point of the whole flick.
