My quick rating - 4,0/10. I strangely enjoyed the first Fear Pharm more than most did. This sequel did not exactly bring back what I liked about the first one, unfortunately. Still, it isn't completely incompetent as far as slashers go. This one starts off immediately following the first with some creative liberties tied in to make it plausible. The same family is still working their corn maze attraction to lure in kids. They still need more skin samples for their miracle skin medication to be made. Of course, the main ingredient is literally fresh skin preferably from stupid and young adults. The maze itself is again used as a battleground to pit the twisted family members against the unsuspecting victims that are invited to their special maze. That is the one with the best scares and rewards for getting through it. In those write-in parts, they found a way to bring in participants from the first movie that may or may not have died so they are fully aware of the nightmare scenario they are in unlike the remainder of the people roaming around. The kills here seemed a bit tamer than the first one which is disappointing since that was part of the flair. I doubt you need any acting breakdowns here. Although Aimee Stolte as the evil daughter that has invented the money-making cream is quite campy fun. I think if they didn't waste so much time trying to make everything occurring in both movies believable, they could've succeeded a bit better. Still not a terrible slasher flick for what it is worth. The problem with being a sub-par sequel to a mediocre movie is that leaves you being pretty bad overall. Not a spoiler, but if you are following these for some reason, there is clearly a sequel lead in this time. And I know I'll be checking it out since this movie just cruised along being a tame version of the first so I expect it will either go full-on #turkey in the third or completely go off the rails in kills. That is the typical move when you back yourself into a corner with a flick like this. Bookmark it.
