While diving in a remote French lake, a couple of YouTubers who specialise in underwater exploration videos discover a house submerged in the deep waters. What was initially a unique finding soon turns into a nightmare when they discover that the house was the scene of atrocious crimes. Trapped, with their oxygen reserves falling dangerously, they realise the worst is yet to come: they are not alone in the house.

My quick rating - 5,4/10. It is so nice to see a completely new idea spun onto a tried and true horror mainstay, such as the haunted house. A couple does location exploring for their youtube channel and seems to try and entertain by finding the unusual, unknown areas to check out. This time they go underwater to explore a house that is located at the bottom of a lake. Just that tidbit had me pressing play. As expected, the vast majority of this being underwater helps it tremendously while also completely distracts from it at the same time. It looks incredibly good when you can see but as the movie progresses and scenes become more action-oriented, you are stuck staring and masses of bubbles and using your imagination as to what is going on. But the whole story itself was quite shallow and there wasn't enough to the mystery of the ghosts that were trapped in the house. As they are awakened and start moving around to chase our explorers, we are wondering visually what is going on, and mentally why it is even happening. So for the initial onset, the novelty of the whole thing being in a submerged home is enough to get anyone interested, it just falls flat over that. As a horror story, much of the potential is lost in relying on the one factor it had going for it. Obviously, we can't really say much about their acting since they are only out of the water for about 10 minutes of the whole flick. As far as found footage goes, there still is a small heartbeat left in it if people can still come up with unique ways to use it such as this. What could be more claustrophobic than being underwater in a dark, haunted house with corpses chasing you around? That is the main point here and would've been so much better had they developed more around the story instead of just relying on that. It really could've been a smash had the writers paid it more attention. But instead, we are left with a great concept that looks slick but aside from a few creepy scenes, really just ends up being a one viewing type thing.
