My quick rating - 4,0/10. This is what pulled me in "John Liu originally shot the film in 1984 in New York City. The film remained unfinished until Vinegar Syndrome found the original unedited camera negative in their film archive." I have to say it would've been just fine had they not bothered finishing this one. Apparently, the video footage was intact so they hired some actors to do the voice work for it. A couple of the names they used are actually quite fitting though in Cynthia Rothrock, Don Wilson and one that doesn't quite fit is Ginger Lynn. Anyways the story itself is atypical of the flood of early 80s ninja flix that came out. This one is just your everyday sound technician that goes after the "gang" of thugs that murdered his wife. In becoming a masked avenger he rids the streets of evil and ends up with a local following. The whole thing is so incredibly ridiculous that you cannot help but laugh throughout. I don't really know if the original intention was for this to be taken seriously or not. I hope not otherwise this is one of the worst action movies ever made. The fight scenes are either really poorly done or comedic genius. However, you view this movie as what you are going to get out of it. Even myself taking it for what it was, and now is, I still think it should've stayed on the cutting room floor but there is a part of me that thinks it is great that a team of people thought better of it and turned someones at one-time vision into a reality. It may not be good by anyone's standards but I still see worse shit coming out today that was MADE this or last year and haven't an excuse such as this. For movie buffs only since beyond us, I cannot see any mainstream audience for this one.
