My quick rating - 6,2/10. Thought the trailer for this one looked decent. The trailer did it justice although I will make sure to tell you right away. If you are NOT a fan of Michael Bay and his in-your-face, non-stop action that at times has camera angles that make you nauseous then I suggest you pass on this one. Something unexpected here is the quality of acting. Yes, the storyline does merit a bit more acting chops than a Transformer or Bad Boys flick but Jake Gyllenhaal was really perfect for the role here. To be honest, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Eiza Yahya also did fine work while whizzing around the city in a V-8 charged ambulance. Oh, so the story here is quite simple, the bad guys end up in an ambulance trying to avoid the police after a botched bank heist. González is the medic stuck along for the ride and required to keep an officer who was shot alive for leverage for our criminals. Luckily, Yahya also happens to be a world class race car driver, so avoiding an entire city of police vehicles in pursuit of an ambulance will be a piece of cake. Normally I would be on board in a bit of slamming this flick for the insane action but this one does strangely balance it out well enough to fend off the haters (minus IMDB, they are strong there but then again, sheep always follow the flock and it is the IN thing to do to hate on Bay) The setup for the heist was simple enough that the expected problems that arise worked well and since our actors did their jobs well, you actually gave a shit what was going on throughout the ordeal. Had the acting been subpar, this would've been a painful 136 minutes and surely would merit the cries of all action, no reason. But instead, it was an entertaining albeit a bit too long flick that fits into the summer season perfectly.
