Notes

My quick rating - 1.9/10. I don't think Michael Paré will ever be able to recapture his swagger that he had from one of the most underrated flix of its time, Streets of Fire, but I keep giving him a shot. Plus, Bai Ling is in it, and I am sure you all know how much of a Crow fan I am. I have no idea where to begin with this one. It is downright awful in every aspect. This is about some convicts who take a police station hostage (all 5 officers), and Paré plays Officer Kinkaid, who plays the negotiator. There is absolutely no explanation for how this happens. This criminal "mastermind" walks into an interrogation room and points a gun at the detective questioning some dumb "whore" (not me calling names, that is the character Bai Ling massively overacts and the cop addresses her as such). Not only do we have no idea who this is or how he grabbed an officer's uniform and two guns, but then all of a sudden, the cell doors fly open to allow the entire TWO prisoners out to assist in this grand scheme. Before you can finish shaking your head, Michael Paré and some other cops are already aware of the situation and are in talks with them. Again, no explanation on how anyone outside the building has any clue that something is going on. The two convicts, sporting the ZZ Top look, are there to keep this crime going when our mastermind McMasters, starts to lose his grip on reality, which we find out is when he tends to kill people. There is really no way to know what character Ling was attempting to play in this. I blame the screenwriter for that one. The entire movie appears as though they could have nabbed it off a stage since there are literally three sets needed. There is never anything but those three rooms. That poster makes it look like something might happen, but it doesn't. You could literally write a book about all the problems with this movie, just don't watch it to find out.
