A group of spring-breakers enjoying a weekend in Mexico. After a big night of partying on the beach until dawn, the friends steal a couple of jetskis and take them out to sea, but end up in a horrific head-on collision. After one of the jetskis sinks, the group finds itself stranded two miles from land on one remaining, broken-down jetski, and struggling with a badly injured friend. With no clear way home and predators circling in the choppy waters below, the true horror begins.

My quick rating - 4,3/10. Ok, per a user suggestion, this one it is tonight. And it takes me only moments to be annoyed, "Those are NOT Jetskis" LOL. Yes, I know I am old and remember when wave runners and jetskis were different things but it still bothers me. Anyways, the expected outcome is on its way when 5 typical spring breakers get drunk and decide to steal a couple for a joyride. The poster and the foreshadowing from a local at the start of the flick should give you a significant clue as to where this one is going. I will give credit where it is due since they were able to keep me interested throughout the entire 87 minutes. Didn't stop me from deleting it but I am also not here to complain. Some of the scenes with the shark do look quite nice and will toss in a couple of decent jump scares. Our cast really doesn't leave anyone out there for you to root for much and if you cannot figure out who the final girl is within the first 5 minutes of this movie, then you have a lot of catching up to do. It is that damn obvious unfortunately and I know I am spoiling it but did you really think they had the balls to kill everyone off? I just wish somehow someone would come up with something new for the sharks to feast on. Yes, the gore and blood here looked good and some body parts litering the sea are always a welcome sight for these flix. But let's try something that isn't the whiny, self-entitled young adults get stranded in the ocean surrounded by sharks and must survive. Maybe The Meg 2: The Trench will suffice when it arrives in August. Until then, you could definitely find worse than this one so if you are itching for yet another shark week cash grab, this one will do fine for a single shot. You may even laugh a few times because the writing does leave a bit to be desired in the reality department.
