Malik, an aspiring painter, takes a job as a security guard at an art museum to make extra cash. However things quickly become terrifying when the figure inside one of the paintings starts speaking to him and walking around at night.

My quick rating - 3,3/10. On with #shocktober although I admit, I don't have high hopes for this one. The poster led me to the correct assumption. Although admittedly Deiondre Teagle as our hero did an admirable job with a crappy story. In what is uncommon for these types of indie horrors, instead of the guy taking a third shift security job to make ends meet, it wasn't for keeping up some lavish loft apartment and ordering bottles when he hits the clubs. No, he was scraping to pay rent and going through his painting sales on Etsy and whatnot to amass enough money to just survive. I liked the reality here. But even if his acting was above par and his situation was unique, every other possible flaw was present. The story itself was poorly worked together, with our "demon" type thing capturing artists' souls by forcing them to paint in blood and holding them forever in his own little gallery. But no explanation as to why or how this is occurring, just some urban legend about a painting that has deaths and suicides following it around. Oh, and the painting sucks, the things Malik (Teagle) comes up with far exceed the main painting in quality. The camera work and editing are bad even taking into account there was a limited budget. There really aren't any form of scares unless you consider the demon's appearance, Jacob's Ladder style with the violently shaking head. The lack of jumps or any kills makes the whole thing quite a poor entry that at least I was able to warn you about. If all that sounds like something you want to check out, you can click below to rent on Amazon or just click that for me and take the far cheaper route and watch with ads on TubiTV. It isn't worth spending on.
