Notes

My quick rating - 4,4/10. Stuck posting from my phone. That was due to the dead motherboard and this was the first flick I had grabbed at the time on the temporary setup. Anyways, I was a fan of the first flick to an extent. It wasn't great but the cast carried it through the bland script. I have to say this one is a LOT of the same issue. Jeffrey Donovan is entirely underappreciated for his acting chops and does what he can to carry this time-travel flick. The problem is the ideas created for the first are basically not a part of this one minus an afterthought of the name. Again, after being gunned down in an old West shootout, sheriff Pulsipher (Donovan) is recruited to be part of the RIPD and fight the Deados. That is your extent of connection and the rest is a story that is thrown together on the fly to basically profit off the name. I really don't understand why a sequel was needed after the first flick bombed at the box office and critics hated it but here we have one anyways. The special effects are decent at times for the huge step downed budget from the first. The action scenes are very inconsistent in quality so I often would wonder how a single person was coordinating the same movie. Penelope Mitchell as his partner did a good job adding some comedy to the often stale jokes. Again, the humor was another inconsistent portion of the whole product. I think that is the word to describe this whole affair so if you loved the first flick, you'll most likely hate this but if you are similar to my thoughts on the original as entertaining enough to not recommend it, then I don't think you'll have much good or bad to say with this one.
