A stockbroker in a small southern town gets embroiled in an insurance scam with a next-door neighbor that leads to multiple murders when a host of other people want in on the plot. Sheriff Thurmond Fowler, the by-the-book town sheriff for over four decades, works earnestly to try and unravel the town’s mystery and winds up getting more than he bargained for.

My quick rating - 4,0/10. What a massively wasted cast. If you look at those names, you would assume you are going to be in for a decent little crime thriller but instead, you are left with an unsatisfied feeling of misspent time. Morgan Freeman just phones in his performance with no enthusiasm. Jaimie Alexander has to attempt to carry this insurance scam gone wrong flick. In this small town, it seems as soon as there is money involved everyone in town wants a piece of the action and it is up to sheriff Freeman to figure it all out once bodies start piling up. Everyone in this flick just seemed bored unless they were getting parts of their body cut off. Granted, that doesn't happen often enough to make it a selling point. There is so little mystery to what is going on that it ends up being more tedious just watching such talent plodding through the motions to get to the finale. I felt as though I was watching a big-budget TV movie since this cast couldn't be cheap. But the story is a snoozefest so quick and to the point, don't bother unless you are a huge fan of anyone you see below.
